“What is the meaning of life? To be happy and useful.” (The 14th Dalai Lama)
Whichever way you look at it, at the end of the day happiness is the only measure for quality of life that matters. Whether you’re single or married, rich or poor, fat or thin, smart or dumb, American or Antarctican, scaling mountains or scrubbing sewers, there’s no problem as long as you’re happy!
Mostly happiness is made up of the big building blocks in life like your career, family, friends and so forth, but it can also come from little things, like that hobby you love, that awesome trip you took, that gripping novel you read and so forth. This section of the Handbook is dedicated to all these matters.
